Over the course of the last two decades, Xilxo went through a transformation to finesse in Turkish cymbal sounds that are unparalleled elsewhere. The Xilxo West Coast is characterized by heavy hand hammering and unique features. The smaller bell, amplified lathed underside, and two lathed stripes on the upper edge create a well-balanced, dry, and focused stick sound with a shimmering decay, giving it great crashing abilities and excellent ride patterns.

Reviews
"The Xilxo West Coast ride provides a focused, "woody" stick definition, making it ideal for maintaining a clear and controlled rhythm. Despite its defined sound, the West Coast ride also features a balanced and shimmering wash and decay. Overall It can be described as "smokey". The ride has the ability to blend perfectly with other instruments in a small blues or jazz combo, notable with its "Johnny Carson" sound. While it is a ride cymbal, it also has good crashing capabilities, especially when struck on the edge, providing a louder, distinct accent." - John Voss
"After over a year playing it I must say it is an exceptional jazz ride. Thin and crashable. Good wash and also good shimmer, but decays quickly (pretty tough combo wash+fast decay). Can clearly hear stick. But stick isn't a metallic ping and it's also not a dull wooden thud. Can play very soft or moderately loud, but in a jazz setting with no more than 7 other instruments. Not a large jazz ensemble or stage band. Not punk. Not grunge. Not metal. Not Top 40. Not rock. Small jazz groups and also Chicago blues." - Mark Lee Web
