Groove is designed to be raw and aggressive, but extremely funky. They combine lathed surface with deep grooves on their tops and distinctive lath work with wider ridges of New Orleans on their bottoms. These cymbals work well across a wide variety of genres.

  "Curvy Crash is part of the china family but are exotic rides as opposed to accent cymbals. It features a conventional bell and bow, with only the gentle upturned flange betraying it's true nature. Elements of a regular ride can be heard in it, as the stick sound has a depth and definition that is close to that of the Groove rides. The tuning leans towards trashy but in a gentler manner than that of an equivalent china. Crashing the Curvy Crash gives a more china-like response, though with less aggression involved and a longer decay." - Adam Jones
  
  "I haven't used a pang type of a cymbal in a number of years, so at first I was expecting the Curvy Crash to be a little more "china" as far as trashiness goes, but it wasn't. It sits almost directly in the middle of what a china cymbal offers and what the ride cymbal sounds like. It has slightly upturned edges and a touch of trash as you ride on this outer area; then the sound gets a bit more traditional the closer you move toward the bell. I don't find it as useful in small group settings, since you need to hit the cymbal relatively hard for the attack/swell/release to speak with its true character. It definitely has its own unique voice, a somewhat dirty attack with a fast release, when playing in amplified environments." - Shopper
