The legendary cymbals that defined the sound of generations of drummers since the early days of Rock. The present 2002 is built on the foundation of the original classic cymbals and is expanded by modern sounds for today’s progressive popular music.
2002 Power Ride
Bright, full, clean, energetic, strong.
Fairly narrow range, fairly clean mix.
Heavy response, controllable feel.
Big, clean, glassy ping over a dry, dark and bell-like wash.
The classic power ride sound for mainly Rock and Metal applications.
"Very well defined crystal med hi ping, and of course it has that Paiste trademark beautiful transparent shimmering wash. The bell is *very* happening too. Its lower in pitch from the rest of the cymbal, very cutting and separated from the rest of the cymbal sonic properties. Great bell. Even though this is a very heavy pie its also great for light crashing or using the butt end of the stick for accompanying a tear it up rock guitar lead. Cuts through the mix powerfully but gracefully. Its a great rock ride. Listen to Geep Purple's Ian Paice, he's been using this ride." - Tomcat
"The bell sound cuts through really well, it has a rounded deep note but isn't harsh or tinny - a pleasure to hit. For a fuller sound a wash can be built easily but is still distinct with good body and warmth, a solid sound. If you are a hard hitter and need a cymbal that cuts but has warmth and body, I would certainly consider this cymbal very seriously." - Shopper
"The sound is solid, bright, warm, and very musical. The bell is large, and superb. It is gorgeous to look at as well. I can crash on it, and it handles both light and hard playing with ease. It's a real beast, and just great for rock, but I can jazz it up on this thing as well." - Steve Rok
