  "19" ride can also be seen as a very powerful, dark crash. However, it has more of a ride character and simply redefines the term "dry attack" for a cymbal with this diameter. If you play with very fine sticks here, you will also be pleased about the high transparency of this very unique sound, because it hardly rustles in the sustain.   "I took the 19" and 22' rides to a recording session, and found their clarity, heft, and crispness right on the mark. My miking setup included one mic' right above the ride. In playbacks and on the eventual CD tracks, even my slightest ride strokes cut through, with highlights and "low-lights" (sonic depths) registering equally clear in the mix. During the session I switched back and forth between wood-tip sticks, brushes, and rods.
