Xist Dry Dark is created as a bridge between the acoustic and electric, organic and electronic- a modular cymbal lineup designed to be uniquely expressive as individual pieces or in unique pairings and combinations. Each cymbal exhibits a pointed attack with dark overtones and very quick decay and is soft and wobbly. Played alone they demonstrate a wide dynamic range and with organic, dark tones designed to not overpower other instruments. In combinations, they can be uniquely percussive, modern, and synthetic sounding. A great compliment for traditional straight-ahead jazz, synth-based music, and modern, progressive jazz.

Reviews
"It has a very pronounced, short attack, and there is also a bit of overtone shimmering, which makes the extremely dry attack, but this cymbal has a ping sound after all quite far away. The typically short sustain actually only consists of very low frequencies with a slight bend in the modulation. That, too, is actually astonishing, because the duration of the sound is extremely short, compact. It is downright amusing to watch the cymbal movement when you hit it: It swings up very quickly with only small but very clear deflections, which of course explains the tone bending and the short duration of the sound." - Ralf Mikolajczak
"The 20" Flat Ride is really special. It produces a ticking, clear attack followed by a soft, hissing rattle. Due to the missing bell, it has no overtones and nothing of the tonal substance of normal ride cymbals. The bend also provides a further break in vibration, resulting in an extremely short decay. The playing position is also interesting. If you mount the cymbal a bit more tightly, it doesn't rotate and you get a comfortably aligned, large stick surface. This ride is an absolute for the drummers who like of unusual sounds." - Max Gebhardt
"Very light cymbal, with a very dry sound and a very low volume. excellent for acoustic contexts." - Art Spettacoli
