The legendary cymbals that defined the sound of generations of drummers since the early days of Rock. The present 2002 is built on the foundation of the original classic cymbals and is expanded by modern sounds for today’s progressive popular music.
2002 Power Crash
Aggressive, shattering, powerful.
Fairly narrow range, dense, tight mix.
Heavy feel, powerful attack, with brilliant, silvery highs and midrange heavy body.
Strong, extremely cutting crash for heavy playing.
"The 2002 Power crashes are heavier and slightly higher in pitch than their thin cousins. They had an explosive, bright, cutting impact that quickly opened up, with a wash that played out evenly through a long decay. 20" had a lotto offer. As crashes that produce maximum impact and volume, one couldn't wish for more. But these were also large and heavy enough to work effectively as rides. These bonus characteristics were more evident in the 20". Protracted riding on it built up a swell and crescendo that was a musi¬ cally effective lead-in to the point at which I finally crashed on it. The bells of the 20" cymbals were also interesting. They had a sound that was slightly separated from the body of the cymbal—a sort of tangy ring. Very distinctive." - Martin Patmos
