HHX brings out lows and complexity of tone, quick to speak and maintain quality at all dynamic levels.
HHX Complex Medium Hi-Hat
- It employs a combination of HH and HHX hammering, a raw bell, and a number of the aforementioned proprietary techniques â resulting in one of the richest, fattest set of hats Sabian has ever produced.
- The raw bell design on the over-hammered pairing of a medium top over a heavy bottom results in a very solid foot, dark cut when closed, and sizzling fat tone at all times.

Reviews
"The complex hi-hat with medium-top and heavy-bottom cymbals deliver a successful fusion of present, not too bright stick sound over a rich keynote. When played slightly open, they produce a dark, fine hissing sound, while half-open they produce a powerful rustle. The 14" complex hi-hat is a little higher in tone and a touch faster in response than the 15" version, which in turn delivers a deeper stick attack and a slightly wider sound image in terms of frequency. Those who prefer very fixed hi-hat patterns should perhaps favor the 14" hi-hat, which can be played very dynamically." -Â Team
"The 14" are designed to produce a solid, tight foot "chick," a dark, articulate closed sound, and a fat open sizzle. They're fairly chunky, weighty hi-hats, but they responded quickly
and cleanly, and they had a more nuanced and expressive tone that I usually only get with thinner options. The extra hammering
effectively removed any lingering or metallic overtones, which gave these HHX Complex hi-hats a very satisfying acoustic sound
that translated to recording very well. The 14" would be ideal for all-purpose use." -Â Michael Dawson
"They have a beautiful splashiness with enough body to give them some volume and heft. Stick definition is excellent. Intricate stick and shoulder patterns are a breeze, and the foot
"chip" is very clean and cutting." -Â Ryan Bennett
