The Istanbul Agop 30th Anniversary is a true work of art, featuring a variety of hammer marks, lathing, and colors that all contribute to its unique sound. It stands out with its hand-shaped, rugged-looking bell, whose profiles gently curve downward. These cymbals bear a striking resemblance to vintage Turkish Ks, which served as their inspiration. As with their aged counterparts, these instruments possess character and nuance.

Reviews
"Boy oh boy, these hats are everything people say they are! They have such a beautiful “crunch” to them when they are closed. The foot chick is dark and dry. While they are very low-pitched and thin cymbals, they surprisingly still provide a fair amount of volume. When played slightly open, they produce a crispy sizzle. Any Gadson type groove really excels through these hi hats. Their crunchy feel gives them so much personality to contribute to just about any musical context, but these hi hats really find themselves at home in genres like funk, jazz, worship, and soft rock." - Braden Cox
"Being so light and thin, the hats are endowed with an intoxicating degree of warmth and responsiveness. Closed, they give a deep, tangy note which is sheathed in gentle brightness. Opened up, the note broadens then dissolves into a smooth, fuzzy wash that had me hunting for hidden rivets. And stepping them kept us occupied for hours - literally. It's as though the sound they make is as soft and pliable as the hats themselves. The hats are exquisite - physically slight but beautifully voiced and hugely playable." - Adam Jones
"If you're in a playing situation that requires some real earthiness in your sound, you and these hi-hats may be well matched. They had the same stick sound and smoldering undertones as the rest of the line, plus the added midrange that's so important to a great hi-hat tone. Played with the pedal, they produced a solid and defined "chick." Played open or closed with sticks, their notes were wide and comfortable." - Colin Woodford
"All 30th Anniversary hi-hat models combine a versatile, traditional sound with a touch of modern trash, which is mainly due to the very thin top cymbals. The dry and short sustain when playing closed is striking. If you prefer a controlled sound with stick definition and a good dose of vintage character, you will be happy here. The 16-inch version in particular is very reminiscent of Steve Jordan's powerful, wide yet defined hi-hat sound. Due to the fact that the bottom cymbal is hardly heavier than the top cymbal, the chick sound is not particularly powerful. For some, it blends in unobtrusively into the sound, while for others it may lack assertiveness in a louder musical context." - Alex Hoffken
