Groove is designed to be raw and aggressive, but extremely funky. They combine lathed surface with deep grooves on their tops and distinctive lath work with wider ridges of New Orleans on their bottoms. These cymbals work well across a wide variety of genres.
"The hats have a real silkiness to them. There is warmth present - as you'd expect from a pair of hand-made cymbals - but it sits beneath a bright sheen. Played softly, they give a delicate, silvery response. Upping the velocity, the top end begins to assert itself, giving the hats great projection. When the stick is angled down to include some shoulder they fatten up rapidly while washing them half-open reveals another step up in power. There are few musical settings they couldn't perform in." - Adam Jones
"Groove Hats are all-purpose cymbals. They're a bit heavier than the other models, so they could cut through at higher volumes while retaining a high level of musicality. You shouldn't be afraid to take these on an intimate jazz session or a more intense funk/rock gig-they are designed to do it all." - Team
"The Bosphorus Groove hats (I own 14" and 15" versions) are great all round hats, they sit somewhere between bright n dark. The Groove series is more appropriate for dark with great stick definition but can still cut through at live shows." - Captain Bash
"Both the Groove 14- and 15-inch Hats have a strong "chick" when closing with the foot that cut through the sound of a band easily. Even though I like both sets, the 15-inch set appealed to me a bit more since it has a lower fundamental tone and produced a bit more of the "woofiness" that I love in a hi-hat. It
makes for an overall deep, rich tone when playing directly on the cymbals." - Shopper
