OM is the result of Cindy Blackman-Santana's liaison to achieve the sounds she was looking for, more of an out-and-out classic power-jazz set, a nod towards her great mentor, Tony Williams who was no light hitter. So the OM had to be compelling, capable of withstanding a good thrashing, capturing the vibier, more dynamic cymbal sounds from the golden era of Jazz.

Reviews
"Dynamic, jazz range encompassing Cindy's musical experiences. The 22" OM ride is an incredibly articulate cymbal capable of reproducing flurries of notes fluently. The stick sound is dry and metallic, yet warm, and sits on a cushion of wash. Perhaps displaying its jazzy roots, the ride doesn't have the biggest of bells, but no problem projecting in playing situations far louder than acoustic jazz." - Adam Jones
"I usually prefer to mix and match series and models from different manufacturers to have a wide palette of sounds to work with. But the Om series felt great as a complete unit, whether played in a straight-ahead jazz context or as part of a vintage-style classic-rock setup. I really enjoyed how these cymbals could build to a roar without sounding harsh or indistinct. Even when struck firmly, they sounded mature and "worn in," with softer highs and more mid and low frequencies than I expected from cymbals fresh out of the kiln. The 22" Om ride had a low but focused pitch and clear articulation that was supported-but never overwhelmed-by a warm, humming sustain. The bell sound was deep and focused, even when I shanked the bell with the shoulder of the stick. Crash accents elicited a slightly trashy sound, but the overtones remained balanced. This highly musical ride could easily become a work- horse for jazzers and rockers alike." - Michael Dawson
"The cymbal sounds super dry and immediately invites high-speed ride patterns a la Tony Williams. It sounds totally earthy. What is Interesting is the beautiful and buttery soft feel, which is referred to as "Buttery Feel". The bell of the cymbal is extremely small. It projects with an amazingly well-defined sound that fits the cymbal very harmoniously. Apart from jazz, this cymbal is perfect for electronic music." - Udo Masshoff
