"20" Sterling offers a lighter attack and an overall slightly more airy sound, with a slightly darker sustain. The higher pitch ensures a bell-like, bright and transparent sound, which also has a slightly dark color in the sustain. As a crash / ride, it looks lighter and a bit more attack-heavy than the 22" version, the sustain is a bit more aggressive. Both cymbals deliver, however, a relatively light stick a robust, powerful sound and have a good dynamic bandwidth to offer." -Â Ralf Mikolajczak
"As expected, the 20-inch model is tonally above the two-inch larger cymbal and is therefore also ideal as a crash. Due to the controlled sustain and the wash, which is not too superficial here either, it can also be used as a ride cymbal. The larger model has a more pronounced ride character and opens more sluggishly when crashing. The bell is very present on both cymbals, which is often not the case with Agop cymbals - think of the 30th Anniversary models in particular, whose bell hardly stands out from the basic sound of the cymbals. When playing softly and especially when playing with mallets, the wide dynamic range becomes apparent, which enables the two Sterlings to be used in a wide variety of musical styles. They are certainly not cymbals for the darkest metal or the hardest rock, but other than that, I really can't think of a style where these cymbals would be out of place, which brings us back to the namesake of the Signature line." -Â Alex Hoffken
