  "The HHX X-treme crashes are weird. Good weird. These are loud and weird, bright and funky. Tapped lightly, they give the wash and roar and honk of mutated china or gongs. When you hit ’em hard, the they sound like a thin crash with a cutting, white noise roar that would easily carry it through loud and dense music. They keep their sonic ties to china (or trashcan lids) but they are bright and clear. If you like the idea of a china sounding cymbal that roars through the music, check these out. These crashes are an uproarious specialty cymbal for drummers who need a cymbal with lots of juice. The sound is too weird (and too good) to just call it a crash." - Team
  
  "Hit it once fairly hard and it sounds like a dark crash but it explodes fast like a china. When you ride then it really sounds like it's got some china in it. It's got that trashy ring to it which I love because I've never heard a china that sounds like this. It's got a hint of a jazz ride in there too. I wouldn't use it as your main crash for rock drumming. I got a medium rock crash as my main bright crash and this one is my dark crash for contrast and china like riding.
